Two SPSF Professors participated in the UNESCO International Forum on the Futures of Education 2024: Renewing the Social Contract for Education, held by UNESCO and the Korean National Commission for UNESCO in Suwon, Republic of Korea. This forum was held to follow up on and disseminate the report published by UNESCO in 2021. Approximately 1,000 participants, including those from within South Korea, took part over three days (December 2–4), engaging in a wide range of in-depth discussions. Additionally, a special issue of UNESCO’s academic journal “Prospects” was launched, providing a comprehensive overview of the report’s background and key points. On the final day, concerns arose over potential disruptions due to the declaration of martial law by the South Korean president. However, the forum concluded successfully, and participants returned home safely.
