In collaboration with the Graduate School of Economics at Sophia University, we invited Professor Manuel Alejandro Cardenete from the University of Loyola, Andalusia, Spain, to give a talk on June 12. His lecture, titled “Introduction to Economic Research: An Empirical Approach,” was well received by the students.
Although the session was primarily designed for first-year graduate students, it also proved highly valuable for undergraduate students—especially those considering a master’s degree and reflecting on how it might connect to their future careers.
In his talk, Professor Cardenete discussed how to strategically link graduate studies, research, and academic qualifications with professional opportunities. He also explored ways to approach real-world challenges through research and shared insights on how to frame academic work with both purpose and impact.
We are truly grateful for Professor Cardenete’s inspiring talk. Students undoubtedly gained a great deal from his presentation, and we believe it helped broaden their perspectives and deepen their academic and professional ambitions.
